Each participant must complete the loop in under one hour in order to start the next loop. If a participant finishes before the hour is up, they may use the remaining time to rest, eat, sleep, or prepare for the next start.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal translation-block\" style=\"text-align:justify\">The winner is the last person to complete the loop.<\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>2. Race Registration<o:p><\/o:p><\/b><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\">All registrations must be completed through the official race website. <b>https:\/\/www.bigwolfsbackyardultra.ca\/&nbsp;<\/b><o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\">Payment must be made through our Square platform, and all information provided must be valid in order to confirm participation.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\">Subject to Sections <b>3 and 16<\/b>all registrations are <b>final, non-transferable, and made in the participant\u2019s name.<\/b>.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal translation-block\" style=\"text-align:justify\">3. Registration Cancellation and Deferral Policy<\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\">Any request for cancellation or registration deferral must be submitted exclusively by email to <b>info@bigwolfsbackyard.com<\/b>.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>3.1 More than 30 days before the event:<\/b> The participant may request to defer their registration to the following edition of the same event. Deferrals are permitted <b>only once<\/b>is in the participant\u2019s name and cannot be transferred to another person or to another race in the Big Wolf series. The participant must attend the scheduled date of their event the following year.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>3.2 30 days or less before the event:<\/b> no deferral will be granted<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\">A registration that has already been deferred becomes <b>definitive<\/b> and cannot be deferred a second time or refunded.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>3.3 Transfers Between Races:<\/b> no registration transfer between the different races in the Big Wolf series are permitted, as each event is independent.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>3.4 Canadian Backyard Ultra Masters | CBUM:<\/b> Due to the unique nature of this invitation-only event, <b>no registration deferrals or transfers are permitted.<\/b>Registration is final <b>non-transferable, and non-refundable.<\/b>.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>4. Timing, DNF and Winner<o:p><\/o:p><\/b><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>4.1<\/b> Wearing the timing chip is mandatory for every loop. Removing the timing chip may result in disqualification.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>4.2 <\/b>Results of <b>24 hours or more<\/b> will be available in the days following the event on Laz\u2019s website: https:\/\/bigsbackyardultra.com\/<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>4.3<\/b> Any participant who fails to complete a loop in under one hour or who does not start the next loop will receive a <b>DNF<\/b>.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>4.4<\/b> The last person to complete a full loop on their own within the allotted time is the sole winner. If no one is able to complete the final loop on their own, <b>there is no winner<\/b>.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>5. Start<o:p><\/o:p><\/b><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>5.1<\/b> The start of all Big Wolf\u2019s Backyard races is scheduled for <b>9 h<\/b>Each loop begins precisely at the start of the following hour. An audible countdown is given by whistle before each start: <b>3 minutes, 2 minutes, and 1 minute<\/b>The official start is then given <b>by the bell<\/b>.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>5.2<\/b> All participants must be within the <b>start zone<\/b> when the start is given at the designated time. Any participant who is not in the designated start area at the time of departure will be disqualified.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>6. Race course<o:p><\/o:p><\/b><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\">Participants must remain on the official course at all times, and the course will remain the same for the entire duration of the race. A daytime loop and a nighttime loop may be used.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\">Slower participants must allow faster participants to pass.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>Immediate disqualification may be applied in the following situations:<\/b><o:p><\/o:p><\/p><ul style=\"margin-top:0cm\" type=\"disc\">\n <li class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1;     tab-stops:list 36.0pt\">presence of a crew member on the course.<o:p><\/o:p><\/li>\n <li class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1;     tab-stops:list 36.0pt\">assistance or support from a crew member or any other person outside the designated support area after the start of a loop.<o:p><\/o:p><\/li>\n <li class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1;     tab-stops:list 36.0pt\">failure to follow the official course.<o:p><\/o:p><\/li>\n <li class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1;     tab-stops:list 36.0pt\">failure to pass through a mandatory checkpoint, including the midpoint checkpoint.<o:p><\/o:p><\/li>\n <li class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1;     tab-stops:list 36.0pt\">removal of the timing chip.<o:p><\/o:p><\/li>\n<\/ul><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>7. Assistance and crew<o:p><\/o:p><\/b><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>7.1<\/b> Assistance from the <b>Crew<\/b> is permitted only in the designated area between loops.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\">The Crew may provide the participant with any assistance desired within this area, but <b>under no circumstances may they enter the course.<\/b>.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\">Only one Crew member is permitted per participant during the <b>the first 24 hours.<\/b>From the <b>25th hour<\/b>A second Crew member may be added if the participant is still in the race. The organizers will then register the second Crew member on site.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\">No replacement or change of Crew members is permitted, except for the addition of a second Crew member after 24 hours. Failure to comply with this rule may result in disqualification.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\">From the 25th hour and on, <b>both crew members may be present simultaneously.<\/b>.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>7.2<\/b> A participant who withdraws from the race, along with their crew, may remain on site and assist participants who are still racing. However, they must not interfere with other participants, Crews, or the operation of the event.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>7.3<\/b> crew members are permitted to sleep on site <b>during the event,<\/b>in their designated area, and must be self-sufficient.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>7.4<\/b> The crew is responsible for its equipment, tent, shelter, and any other furniture or items set up in its designated area. The crew must keep the area clean.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>7.5<\/b> After a DNF, the participant and their Crew may dismantle their tent, shelter, and furniture <b>in between the starts<\/b>without interfering with participants who are still racing. The site must be left clean and in its original condition.&nbsp;<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>8. Bib and On-Site Registration<o:p><\/o:p><\/b><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>8.1<\/b> Bib and participant kit pickup must be completed <b>the Friday before the race between 17hr and 19hr,<\/b>unless otherwise specified in the event-specific Race Guide.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>8.2<\/b> Participant and crew wristbands must be worn <b>at all times<\/b> to access the designated areas of the site<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>9. Equipment<o:p><\/o:p><\/b><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>9.1 Mandatory Equipment at Friday Check-In<o:p><\/o:p><\/b><\/p><ul style=\"margin-top:0cm\" type=\"disc\">\n <li class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify;mso-list:l1 level1 lfo2;     tab-stops:list 36.0pt\"><b>Photo ID<\/b> and proof of registration<o:p><\/o:p><\/li>\n <li class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify;mso-list:l1 level1 lfo2;     tab-stops:list 36.0pt\"><b>For Cacouna only: a minimum of 8 liters of water<\/b> is required at registration and at the start of the race.<o:p><\/o:p><\/li>\n <li class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify;mso-list:l1 level1 lfo2;     tab-stops:list 36.0pt\">Food and hydration drinks according to your needs, in addition to water.<o:p><\/o:p><\/li>\n <li class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify;mso-list:l1 level1 lfo2;     tab-stops:list 36.0pt\"><b>waterproof jacket (rain and wind) <\/b>(pluie et vent)<o:p><\/o:p><\/li>\n <li class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify;mso-list:l1 level1 lfo2;     tab-stops:list 36.0pt\">Blanket or emergency blanket of at least <b>160\n     \u00d7 200 cm<\/b><o:p><\/o:p><\/li>\n <li class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify;mso-list:l1 level1 lfo2;     tab-stops:list 36.0pt\">Head lamp of minimum <b>150 lumens<\/b>with batteries or a backup power source, for night time loops<o:p><\/o:p><\/li>\n <li class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify;mso-list:l1 level1 lfo2;     tab-stops:list 36.0pt\"><b>If applicable only: <\/b>List of your medications and medical conditions<o:p><\/o:p><\/li>\n <li class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify;mso-list:l1 level1 lfo2;     tab-stops:list 36.0pt\">For the <b>Big Wolf Outaouais<\/b>Gaia or another navigation app with the course loaded on a cell phone or watch&nbsp;<o:p><\/o:p><\/li>\n<\/ul><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>9.2 Recommended Equipment<o:p><\/o:p><\/b><\/p><ul style=\"margin-top:0cm\" type=\"disc\">\n <li class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify;mso-list:l2 level1 lfo3;     tab-stops:list 36.0pt\">UV protection<o:p><\/o:p><\/li>\n <li class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify;mso-list:l2 level1 lfo3;     tab-stops:list 36.0pt\">insect repellent<o:p><\/o:p><\/li>\n <li class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify;mso-list:l2 level1 lfo3;     tab-stops:list 36.0pt\">rest chair<o:p><\/o:p><\/li>\n <li class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify;mso-list:l2 level1 lfo3;     tab-stops:list 36.0pt\">10 \u00d7 10 shelter or tent, depending on the event (see the Race Guide for each event)<o:p><\/o:p><\/li>\n<\/ul><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>10. Image Rights<o:p><\/o:p><\/b><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\">The participant expressly authorizes the organizers, their partners, and authorized media representatives to use photographs, videos, or other audiovisual content in which they may appear, including for promotional or advertising purposes related to the events.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>11. Release of Liability<o:p><\/o:p><\/b><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\">The organizers disclaim all liability for any physical or psychological impairment or injury occurring during the event, as well as for the theft, loss, or damage of participants\u2019 or Crew members\u2019 personal property. Authorized medical personnel will be on site at all times. All participants are required to report any physical condition<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>12. Emergency and Medical Assistance<o:p><\/o:p><\/b><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>12.1<\/b> Participants are expected to provide assistance and support to one another. In the event of an emergency or other problem, they must immediately alert, or have someone alert, the organizers and must never leave an injured or distressed person alone. Failure to comply with these basic safety and conduct rules may result in sanctions by the organizers.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>12.2<\/b> When a participant receives significant assistance or support that is incompatible with the race rules, they are disqualified and receive a <b>DNF<\/b>.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>13. Site, Safety and Environmental Responsibility<o:p><\/o:p><\/b><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>13.1<\/b> It is forbidden <b>to sleep on site on the Friday night before the race is prohibited.<\/b>.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>13.2 No animals are permitted on the event sites at any time.<\/b><o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>13.3 Toute forme de\ng\u00e9n\u00e9ratrice est interdite.<\/b><o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>13.4 Stoves and Cooking Appliances:<\/b> they must be used <b>only in areas designated by the organizers.<\/b> and never inside tents or shelters. Their use must comply with applicable fire safety regulations.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>13.5 Heating Systems:<\/b> any heating system used overnight must comply with the previous rules as well as <b>the manufacturer\u2019s instructions and safety standards.<\/b>.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>13.6<\/b> Anyone found discarding wrappers, paper, or other waste on the site or course, before, during, or after the race may be immediately sanctioned by the organizers.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>13.7<\/b> Participants and Crew members must leave their designated area and the site <b>in their original condition.<\/b>.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>13.8 Toilets:<\/b> participants and Crew members must use <b>exclusively the toilets provided by the organizers in the designated areas.<\/b>It is prohibited to relieve oneself elsewhere on the site or along the course.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>14. Respect for Participants, Organizers and Volunteers<o:p><\/o:p><\/b><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\">Anyone who behaves disrespectfully toward a participant, Crew member, volunteer, or member of the organizing team, whether publicly or in connection with the event, may be subject to sanctions by the organizers. When circumstances warrant, the organizers reserve the right to take <b>all appropriate action.<\/b>.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>15. Force Majeure and Cancellation<o:p><\/o:p><\/b><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\">In the event of force majeure, a natural disaster, fire, dangerous weather conditions, or any other circumstance that may compromise the safety of participants, volunteers, or the organizing team, Big Wolf\u2019s Backyard Ultra reserves the right to <b>modify, suspend, or cancel the event.<\/b>In the event of cancellation due to force majeure, no refund may be claimed, <b>subject to applicable laws.<\/b>.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><b>16.
